Latest Newsletter: December 2009

The topic for this half term is "celebrations" and the children are already very busy with their Christmas craft, which you can look forward to receiving towards the end of term.

We are also practising for the Christmas concerts.  We will continue with the letter of the week in the spring term starting with the letter E e, week commencing Monday 4th January 2010.  We will include the show and tell session.  We would like the children to bring an item into nursery relating to the letter of the week.

Christmas Conerts

These will be held on Wednesday 9th December and Thursday 10th December at 10.30am.  The cocerts will take place in All Saints Church and not in the nursery room.

If your child does not attend on either of these days, then please let Sarah or myself know which day you would like them to attend.

If you are taking your child home after the concert, please let a member of staff know, so we can sign them out.

The afternoon sessions will run as normal on these days.

Christmas Parties

The parties will be held on Wednesday 16th December and Thursday 17th December, please drop your child off at the normal time.  The parties will start at 11.00am and end at 12.30pm.  Kelly the clown will be entertaining the children during the parties.

The children who attend the morning session will need to be collected at 12.30pm.  Those children who stay all day, will need a smaller pack lunch than usual.

We would be grateful for any party food donations and a list will be on the table outside the nursery.

If your cild does not attend on either of the above days, please let Sarah or myself know which party you would like your child to attend.

Outdoor Play

We would like to use the garden as much as possible during the winter months.  Please provide suitable clothing that is labelled.

Nusery Funding Spring Term

All children are eligible for Early Years Funding the term after their 3rd birthday.  Parents of eligible children will be asked to complete a parental declaration form, which can be obtained from Sarah or myself at the beginning of the spring term and should be returned to us along with a photocopy of your childs birth certificate or passport, if your child is receiving the funding for the first time.

If you wish to increase your childs sessions or make any alterations, please let us know as soon as possible.  The funding covers a maximum of 12.5 hours per week for the full 12 weeks of the spring term.  This is sometimes a challenge, so please come and talk to us if you need any clarification.

Password Reminder

We have a password system in place, we request that you use this system when anyone is collecting your child who is not already known to the nursery staff.

Please let us have a password for your child if you have not already done so.

Parent/Grandparent Involvement

We are always interested to hear from anyone who would like to share a talent or simply read a story to the children.  If this might interest you, please speak to Sarah or myself.

Christams Post Box

If your child would like to send cards to their friends, the post box is on the table outside the nursery.  We will sort the cards and send them home with their Christmas craft on their last day of term.
